ABOUT Beverly

I am a Vancouver-based mixed media artist. I mainly do abstract works on wood panel with resin or a mixture of acrylic fluid pouring and resin top coat. Playing with colour, form, and texture are forefront in my work . Both resin and fluid pouring create beautiful, organic patterns that lend themselves perfectly to my subject matter while a resin top coat completes the piece by making the colours pop to life in an exquisite fashion. My imagery is conceived from nature: florals, oceans, lakes, forests, and skies. The source can be an actual photo that I have taken or based on the archetypes of nature.

Art, in some form or other, has always been a part of my life. From a young age I felt the need to work with my hands and create. It provides me with purpose, achievement, and immense joy and satisfaction. I am largely self taught but I also took some formal training in acrylic painting from a local artist for a number of years. I also have a Diploma from Vancouver Community College in Fashion Design. I has recently begun to sell my art through private commissions. I enjoy the process of meeting the client, going to their home and then in consultation with the client determining the size and colour palette suitable for their piece.

I live in Vancouver, BC with my husband Ted, daughter Carly, and golden retriever Miller. When I am not in my studio, I enjoy reading, walking in the woods, and spending time at the lake.
