ABOUT lisa
I have worked mostly in acrylics, metallic pigments, alcohol inks, and various textures to create paintings on canvas, papers, and wood panels. I recently started dabbling in oil paints again, after 25 years. I often use photos of the places I love—or the places that the people I love, love—as inspiration. I enjoy turning the colours and patterns found in nature into abstract forms of shape and light. Though, recently I have taken to more abstract realism. I explore various subject matters and styles but always love using painting knifes and other textural tools. Oh, and did I say I’m not afraid of colour?
I began my passion for art in Winnipeg, MB in junior high school playing with drawing, sculpture, and painting. I went on to complete a Graphic Arts, Print Art degree with a Fine Art minor in San Antonio, TX and have been working as a creative for over 25 years. I learn new techniques and get inspired through workshops and art classes.
