Robin Jenkins
ABOUT Robin
Robin Jenkins is a studio potter whose experience with clay began with night classes at Aberthau Community Centre, West Point Grey in Vancouver. Her continued fascination with this tactile medium has seen her work evolve into pots that are beautiful in their simplicity. Robin's signature creations are clean-lined, with just a hint of detail inviting the observer to pick up to take a closer look. Her reward is in the final part of the process, when her creation moves on to its forever home to become a part of the family through everyday use, and on special occasions shared with others.
Robin's inspiration comes from the ocean, beaches, and mountains surrounding this beautiful city. She strives to take her work to the next level through experimentation with form and surface, and by continuing to take classes and attend workshops. Also teaching private, semi-private and group classes allows Robin to share her passion for clay with others, often learning as much from her students as they learn from her.
Robin is one of the founders of the Herman Venema Arts Society, a member of BC Potters Guild, Fraser Valley Potters Guild, Delta Potters Association, CARFAC, ICAN, a Friend of MISSA, and most recently Craft Council of BC.
