Sabine Fedder
ABOUT sabine
I specialize in mixed-media painting, focusing on acrylics, watercolors, and modeling paste. My work is deeply inspired by the beauty of the West Coast of Canada. Through my paintings, I aim to capture the landscapes that shape this environment, hoping to connect the viewer to the natural world. Beyond serving as a personal therapeutic escape, my art has enriched many facets of my life.
I hold an honors BSc in Biology from the University of Western Ontario and am currently engaged in biomedical research at the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering. In addition to co-authoring research papers, I integrate my artistic skills into academic work by creating detailed anatomical illustrations for published studies.
Art has also allowed me to bring comfort to others through teaching at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital, senior homes, and many community centres. These lessons have brought creativity and joy into the lives of students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to explore painting.
Through my personal work, I strive to convey these therapeutic qualities, creating pieces that invite viewers into a meditative and immersive experience.
